The design of the walker was adjusted again in the final illustration to show the eccentricities of the crew, in particular the engineer. He attempts to "teach" the walker a new "trick" by programming it to pour a drink. He also previously added ear-like extensions to the walker to make it look more like a dog.

Final concept. The mechanical walker's pincer arm was adjusted to be able to help lift objects like crates.
